Local Firm, National Capabilities
LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand, established in 1946 developed a reputation
as the local firm with national capabilities. One of the largest independent
accounting and business-consulting firms in southeast Louisiana, we attribute
our growth and success to the success of our clients. Strengthening our
relationship with our clients by helping them grow and prosper is our
most important goal. As a result, we continue to expand our traditional
services to meet their changing needs. Our clients know they are valuable
to us and they can depend on us to provide consistent, quality service.
Our Staff
With a staff of approximately 150 professionals, including 20 directors,
LSRH focuses on recruiting high-achieving team members. As a full service
CPA and business consulting firm, we offer services comparable to the
largest firms in the country.
Our staff is a blend of individuals – some have been with the firm since graduation while others have joined us after having initiated their career with another local or national accounting firm.
In the post-Katrina environment, retention and recruitment has been a challenge for many local employers. LSRH, however, has grown over 25% during this period due to a strong foundation, industry specialization, as well as loyal employees and clients.
Our growth has been the result of our ability to provide our clients with close, personal attention; engagement team continuity; and accessibility to all professional personnel, including directors; and prompt, quality service in a cost-effective, innovative manner.
Member of the RSM McGladrey Network
 LSRH is an integral part of the RSM McGladrey Network, the national
accounting firm association of RSM McGladrey, Inc. RSM McGladrey, working
with McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, serves clients' needs from more than
100 offices nationwide. Working together, these two separate organizations
are one of the largest providers of accounting, tax, and consulting services
in the U.S. This affiliation gives us access to a full range of national
and international capabilities including the resources of more than 260
locations throughout the United States. Internationally, our affiliation
includes over 560 offices in over 70 countries worldwide. In most cases,
our RSM McGladrey Network affiliation allows us to meet demands that financial
services be performed by a "nationally recognized accounting firm."
We accepted an invitation to become affiliated with this network because
it is a natural outgrowth of our commitment to clients and our determination
to stay on the cutting edge of developments affecting accounting and consulting
firms.
We maintain our name, autonomy and independence as a locally owned and
responsive accounting firm responsible for our own client fee arrangements,
our own delivery of services, and our own maintenance of client relationships.
Member of AICPA
LSRH is a member of the Division for Firms established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Among the requirements for membership are: demonstrated use of quality control documents, 40 hours annually of continuing professional education for every professional staff and a peer review consisting of an extensive examination of the firm’s quality control systems and procedures. Our last peer review was completed in 2007 and we received an unqualified opinion on the review.

 In addition, our firm is also a member of the Center for Public Company Audit Firms (CPCAF) established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
